Exposed

by
Cynthia Schuerr
A secret is meant
To be shared by two
So how long must we wait
To make it true
I would give a lifetime
To share with the world
My feelings for you
But who's to know
If our secretIs hidden away
If we cannot tell
Of our love
Then what can it mean
To either of us

Secrets hold mystery and shadow. Your poetic take on wanting to bring light to hidden love is spare and lovely.

I see a Romeo and a Juliet in this poem. Tragic, beauty wrapped in secrecy. Very profound. I love it.

This is a very beautiful poem. I kind of find clandestine relationships to be very romantic and exciting (to some extent). This manages to bring out the sadness and uncertainty in the situation so well; I am quite moved.

Maria, Michelle and Nishi, my goodness, you are all so kind. Profound, mysterious, clandestine and romantic! I love that all of you were moved by my words.

Thank you all, so much.
