Snowed In

by
Deanna Schrayer
Her soul is caught Trapped under the depths Of an eerie blanket, of heavy snow The heart squeezed tight With love? With hunger? In preparation of the coming storm So that tomorrow She will emerge strong And filled with purpose

Deanna,

Beautfil but somewhat chilling to me. Thinking about someone trapped in snow like that - perhaps a person looking out a window and seeing the blanket of snow and comparing it to lonliness they may be feeling. . . either way, it's lovely and I'm glad you shared it with us!

Thank you so much for the kind words Cynthia!

Thank you Jim! Yes, that's exactly what's happening - a woman depressed seeing the blanket of snow and feeling how strongly it compares to her lonliness. Thank you so much for publishing my poem and photo!

Deanna, I don't know how I missed this. It's beautiful. I love the picture that goes with the poem. It adds to the weight and depth of the work. Well done!
